The Smile of Karuna

Due to the project of "True Love" CD, this is my latest composition. The most suitable word we can use to translate Karuna, is compassion. Please bear with my poor pronunciation. This song is very different from what I previously wrote. Hope that it's a good one! =)

生命中的朋友

Dec 14 to 16, 2007, I have attended a Music Camp at Foo Hai Ch’an Monastery. The title of the camp is “Friends for Life”.
The objective of the camp is to provide a platform for teenagers/youth to learn and write songs that cultivate good moral values. It’s also a great opportunity for teenagers/youth to realize that they can contribute to the society by doing what they like- making great music with good values.

We recorded this song that time for the camp as the theme song. Now I listen to it, I can really feel the motivating from the beat & melody of this song. I admire 康淇 a lot, this is the 3rd version of melody and arrangement he made for the same lyrics. Yet all 3 versions are totally different style. This is something which I should really learn and aim to achieve.

我是因为“星光大道”而认识这首歌的。很喜欢副歌三连音的旋律，简单的吉他unplugged，给人一种清新的感觉。“星光大道”时林宥嘉加入了一些转音，它顿时就成了一首带有Jazz味道的歌曲。袁惟仁小胖老师的作品，真不是盖的！

炎热的下午天

This song was written few yrs back. I was stucked in a queue in Dxx bank and the air-con broke down. It's a hot afternoon... the glass door was closed and the queue was long. The air the sound of fixing the air-con was loud. I never realise that it's a Blue Rock until last yr Edmund told me so. Wow.... to think that I did write a blue rock song before kekeke... I like the feel and leads that both Simin & Edmund created for me. Can you feel the frustration and attitude?

偷懒

这是去年我们一起去Cameran Highland 时写的，算是最新的一首创作。还记得那时，我们5人带着行李和guitar，就这样去度假。冷冷的空气，轻松的心情，我们就在那样的即兴写了这首的曲。后来Simon 完成了词，尝试了几个style - bossa, rock, etc. 最后我们决定用有一点cheer's style 的处理。其实还少了一段Verse,但是我们先录了这个版本来参加SPOP,祝我们好运吧！

飞扬的青春

这是一首能唤起很多回忆的歌。曾经，在好几场的户外表演时，我们都用这首歌作“片尾曲”。我庆幸，在音乐的道路上认识了这班朋友。那段一起唱歌的日子，将会是我们的共同回忆。那天看了巫启贤的演唱会，以前的“飞鹰”也出席了。看到他们在台上一起唱歌，荧光幕上呈现一张张他们的照片。那代表着他们走过的岁月，还有几十年的友谊。希望自己能够像那些很棒的音乐人一样，做出好音乐！

Kelly 的新专辑里，有一首歌叫做“印象派的爱情”。这首歌也曾被香港制作人黄少琪相中，收录在香港艺人陈慧珊的粤语专辑里，改名“蜘蛛侠”。其实，之前就已经听过了它的demo版-没想过。那时候就喜欢这首“没想过”了，自己也曾在木船唱过。不知道是不是先见为主的关系，我觉得，我还是喜欢 demo 的版本。简简单单的guitar后加入一点piano fill in. 你觉得呢？
